The Mayan astrology is quite different from our modern western astrology. Surprisingly, though, it is very similar to the ancient Babylonian astrology! In particular, the planet Venus was very prominent to both the Maya and Babylonian astrologers, who revered it as a "dual" deity (matutine and vespertine) and assigned to it similar bellicose properties!
